- 1 pound unsalted butter
- 3 cups white sugar
- 3 teaspoons bakers' ammonia
- 1 cup finely chopped almonds
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

- in a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar. stir in the powdered ammonia and chopped almonds. knead in the flour. roll dough into 1 inch balls and freeze for 1 hour.
- preheat oven to 300 degrees f (150 degrees c). take cookies out of the freezer and bake for 30 minutes.
