Ribs With Cider-bourbon Glaze

Ingredients

  • Servings: 2
  • 4 lbs beef ribs
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced yellow onion
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

Recipe

  • 1 cut the ribs into singles.
  • 2 place them in a large pot or dutch oven and fill with water to cover.
  • 3 simmer over medium heat for two hours, occasionally adding water to cover as needed.
  • 4 in a small bowl, whisk together cider, bourbon, garlic, onion, and melted butter.
  • 5 preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 6 remove the beef ribs from the simmering and let drain well.
  • 7 brush the ribs with the cider/bourbon glaze.
  • 8 place them in a roasting pan and cover with foil, then bake for 30 to 45 minutes.
  • 9 baste ribs occasionally with pan drippings, until ribs are fork-tender and well-browned.
  • 10 serves 2 hungry folks.
