Too Easy Granola Bars (muesli Bars)

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 16
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup wheat germ
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • sultanas, apricots, dates (your choice, chop first and optional) or fig (your choice, chop first and optional)

Recipe

  • 1 in a large bowl mix the rolled oats, brown sugar, wheat germ, cinnamon, and flour; stir.
  • 2 in large measuring jug add the honey, egg, vegetable oil, and vanilla; mix.
  • 3 make a well and add the wet to the dry and mix like mad.
  • 4 generously grease an 18x28cm (9x13 inch) tray.
  • 5 pour in mixture; press with your fingertips.
  • 6 bake at 175 degrees celsius or 350 degrees fahrenheit for 30 to 35 minutes (or until the sides are golden).
  • 7 cool for 5 minutes.
  • 8 slice into even fingers while warm (it will be too hard once cold).
  • 9 cool in the baking tin.
  • 10 keep in a well sealed jar for up to 5 days.
