Hot Lemon Rum Toddy

Ingredients

- 1 cup hot water
- 1/2 lemon, juice of
- 1 -2 teaspoon fresh lemon zest
- 1/8 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
- 1/2 cinnamon stick
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, peeled and sliced (cherry-tomato size)
- 1/2 teaspoon butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 ounce dark rum
Recipe
- 1 in a small pot over medium heat place all ingredients except rum. simmer for about 5 minutes.
- 2 in a large mug pour about 1-2 fingers of dark rum. pour contents of small pot through a strainer into the mug.
- 3 sip while hot.
- 4 go straight to bed.
