Easy Soft Pretzels For Kids

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 24
  • 2 loaves frozen bread dough (16 oz. each)
  • 1 egg , slightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • coarse salt

Recipe

  • 1 separate thawed bread into 24- 1 1/2" balls.
  • 2 roll each ball into a rope 14 1/2" long.
  • 3 have children plan and design pretzel shapes (letters or numerals).
  • 4 put pretzels one inch apart on greased cookie sheet.
  • 5 let stand for 20 minutes and brush with combined egg and water.
  • 6 sprinkle with coarse salt.
  • 7 place a shallow pan containing 1" of boiling water on bottom rack of oven; bake pretzels at 350 degrees on rack above water for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
