Old Fashioned Pound Cake 1972

Ingredients
- 1 2/3 cups sugar
- 1 cup soft butter
- 2 cups cake flour or 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted then measured
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground mace
- 5 whole eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Recipe
- 1 pre heat oven to 325 degrees.
- 2 grease loaf pan. can line if desired.
- 3 cream butter and sugar until all granules are dissolved and you no longer feel them between your fingertips.
- 4 sift the flour and measure.
- 5 add the salt and mace.
- 6 sift all together once more.
- 7 add eggs one at a time, alternating with the flour to the creamed mixture.
- 8 beat until light and fluffy.
- 9 add the vanilla.
- 10 pour into prepared greased pan.
- 11 bake 325 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes.
- 12 using tester to test.
