Ingredients

- 20 small fresh okra pods
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 dash black pepper
- vegetable oil
Recipe
- 1 wash okra, trim steams, drain well.
- 2 pour buttermilk over okra, set aside.
- 3 combine next 5 ingredients mixing well. remove each okra pod from buttermilk and carefully roll in cornmeal mixture.
- 4 drop into deep hot oil; fry 3 to 5 minutes. drain on paper towels.
