Fugazza

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 envelope dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 1/2-3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 1 -1 1/2 teaspoon oregano (preferably mediterranean)

Recipe

  • 1 sprinkle yeast with sugar over milk and water in a small bowl and proof until foamy, about 10-15 minutes.
  • 2 combine flour and salt in a large bowl, make a well in the center and add yeast mixture.
  • 3 blend flour into yeast mixture and knead about 15 minutes, until dough is smooth and elastic.
