Northwest Grilled Dungeness Crab

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 1 hr Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons garlic, minced
  • 3 lemons, juice and zest of, grated
  • 4 dungeness crabs, cleaned, cooked, and cracked
  • assorted seasonal vegetables
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • crusty sourdough bread

Recipe

  • 1 preheat grill to medium high.
  • 2 melt butter with olive oil, garlic, and lemon juice and grated peel.
  • 3 toss crab in the butter mixture to coat and place it on the grill away from the flame.
  • 4 toss vegetables in the butter mixture and season to taste with salt and pepper; place vegetables on the grill.
  • 5 cook the crab for 4 minutes and turn over, burshing with the butter mixture.
  • 6 turn the vegetables over and cook until the crab is heated through and the vegetables are tender crisp.
  • 7 arrange the vegetables on a platter.
  • 8 toss the herbs in the remaining butter mixture and add the crab; toss to coat.
  • 9 arrange the crab over the vegetables and pour the remaning butter mixture over the platter, serve with crusty bread.
