Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
- 3/4 cup milk
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 450.
- 2 in a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
- 3 cut butter/margarine into cubes and cut into flour mixture. you can use a fork or a dough tool. mix until it resembles corn meal.
- 4 in the bottom of the flour mixture, make a well in which to pour the milk.
- 5 pour the milk into the well and work with fingers until you get the dough.
- 6 on a floured surface, roll the dough to a 1/4 inch thickness.
- 7 use a 2.5 inch biscuit cutter to cut biscuits. you can also use a drinking glass for the shape.
- 8 place the cut biscuits on a greased and floured pan and bake for 9-10 minutes.
- 9 the biscuits will not brown like normal biscuits. take one of the biscuits and carefully pull apart to make sure they are completely baked.
