- 8 cups sliced peaches (peeled)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 6 tablespoons cold butter, cut into small pieces
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Recipe
- 1 preheat the oven to 375°f lightly butter an 8- x 10-inch baking dish.
- 2 toss sliced peeled peaches with sugar, spices and 2 tablespoons of flour. put the fruit in the dish, then cover it with the topping. brush the top with the beaten egg and sprinkle it with sugar for a shiny, sparkly crust. bake until the fruit is cooked and bubbling around the edges, about 25 minutes. let the cobbler sit for a while before serving, but serve it warm with cream, yogurt, or ice cream.
