Sand Tarts

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 5 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 2 cups self rising flour
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla (i sometimes substitute pure lemon extract)
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
  • 2 cups powdered sugar, for rolling cooked tarts

Recipe

  • 1 reheat oven to 350 f.
  • 2 cream butter and sugar.
  • 3 work 5 tablespoons flour, vanilla and nuts into creamed mixture.
  • 4 take teaspoon size of mixture and roll into a ball.
  • 5 place on cookie sheet that has been sprayed lightly with oil.
  • 6 bake at 350 f. for 30 minutes.
  • 7 roll tarts in powdered sugar as soon as they are removed from oven.
  • 8 when cooled roll tarts in sugar again and store in air tight containers.
